Utility maintenance on I-540 will require a temporary lane closure on the I-540 Bridge in Fort Smith, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
The work will require closing the inside northbound and southbound lanes between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, weather permitting. The work will be performed by Oklahoma Gas and Electric, and will consist of repairing lights along the bridge.
Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and traffic drums during the lane closure. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
