UACCB beganoffering open registration in the Fall 2011 semester in an effort to streamlineregistration and make the process more student friendly. According to directorof enrollment management, Scott Post, “this process eliminates the oldarena style registration where the student had to stand in one line to fill outan application, another line to talk to financial aid, then another to finallyregister for classes.” He adds, “Open registration is moreconvenient and much less stressful for the student. It also allows them to havea more comprehensive academic advising experience.”

Academic advising is top priority at UACCBin order to help students succeed in their educational endeavors. Through TitleIII grant funding, UACCB has established an advising center to enhance thestudent advising programs and faculty advisors already in place. Post adds,“Instead of just filling out a schedule, the student now have theopportunity to sit down with a trained advisor and discuss more in depth thestudent’s educational and career interests and help them plan a classschedule that fits their current needs, while keeping an eye on their future inthe process.”

Spring semesterregular day and evening classes begin on January 17, 2012.  Financial aidis available to those students who qualify.  Along with the applicationfor admission, students must also provide a high school or GED transcript, copyof immunization record showing two MMR shots, and placement testing which maybe taken at UACCB for $15.
