2018 Essay Contest For Scholarships Little Red River Audubon Society

The contest is open to all area children in the 5th and 6th grade who reside in the following Arkansas counties served by this Chapter, Van Buren, Cleburne, Stone and Searcy, who will be aged 11 and 12 years old when the camp begins approximately June 11th and or a second session on June 18th. The winners of the contest will receive a free scholarship to attend the camp.

The essay will start with the words “Mom! We saw swans on our field trip……….”

Entrant must research and learn about ‘trumpeter’ or ‘mute’ swans, then take these facts and weave them into a story. The essay will be judged on the use of learned facts and story creativity.

Entries must be hand written using black or blue ink. Computer written essays are automatically disqualified. Essay should be approximately 200 and 300 words in length.

Parent should add a cover sheet to the essay which includes the child’s full name, date of birth, address and zip code along with the parents name and contact information (phone number and email address). Please include the name of the school the child attends or if home schooled.

Entries should be mailed to PO Box at the top of this letter by APRIL 21st 2018
