3 Dead, 25 Injured After Friday Tornadoes

Little Rock (AP) – Authorities say tornadoes ripping through central Arkansas have killed at least three people, injured 25 others and destroyed several homes.

Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Renee Preslar said Friday teams were searching for people who may be trapped under a damaged home in Conway County, and three mobile homes were destroyed in neighboring Van Buren County, where the fatalities were reported.

Preslar also said authorities were searching for a possible missing person in Center Ridge, and damage to one structure in Stone County and several houses in Lonoke County was reported.

She says she didn’t have details on how the fatalities occurred or what types of injuries were sustained by those who were hurt.

Arkansas State Police reported tornado sightings in Culpepper, on Interstate 440 near Galloway and near Wrightsville.
