Set the old pigskin aside for a few hours. On Saturday, October 13
Horseshoe Bend and the surrounding community will be “hiking
hashbrowns” as we kick off the autumn season with the third annual
Big Thunder Arkansas Championship Potato Shoot!
The spuds will start sputterin’ at the driving range on Turkey
Mountain at 10 a.m. with competitions for both accuracy, and distance.
Each shootist will be allowed three tries at each competition, with
the average of the three accuracy shots added to the average of the
distance shots for a total overall score. In addition to the dubious
honor of being the state’s champion “tuber-tosser” for 2012,
trophies will be awarded.
Competitors can pre-register for $10, or sign up beginning at 9 a.m.
