A Friend to Rural Water Lincoln Recognized

Washington – U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln was today honored with the “Friend of Rural Water” award, given by the National Rural Water Association at its annual conference. Lincoln also addressed those in attendance, who included Dennis Sternberg of Lonoke, Executive Director of the Arkansas Rural Water Association (ARWA), and Steve Wear of Morrilton, National Rural Water Association (NRWA) National Director for Arkansas.

 “Senator Lincoln is a true Friend of Rural Water,” said Fred Sheldon, President of the NRWA. “Her efforts on behalf of Rural Water are well known as is her fierce and loyal dedication not only to small utilities in Arkansas, but to small and rural community systems across America.  With this award we thank her for her years of tireless work and honor her for her friendship.  In Rural America, friends are always there when you need them.  Congratulations, Senator Lincoln.”
