Air National Guardsmen honored for service overseas

Approximately 100 Arkansas Air National Guardsmen with the 189th Airlift Wing from the Little Rock Air Force Base will be honored for their service overseas in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom during a Hometown Heroes Salute Ceremony.

The event begins promptly at 9 a.m. Sunday, October 3, 2010.
The event will take place in the base theater.

In August 2008, the Director of the Air National Guard sanctioned the Hometown Heroes Salute recognition program. The purpose of this program is to celebrate and honor our Airmen, Families, communities and those special supporters who have significantly contributed to supporting our Airmen and the Air National Guard mission.
Each eligible member will receive a framed letter of appreciation signed by the director and his command chief master sergeant.  Presentations will also be made to the Airmen’s significant other, children and center of influence.
