Alzheimer’s Arkansas Announces New Education and Outreach Director

Carolyn Torrence of Little Rock has been promoted to education and outreach director for Alzheimer’s Arkansas.

Torrence previously served as the organization’s program director for a year and a half. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in education with a focus in adult learning from the University of Arkansas Little Rock. Torrence is also a certified dementia practitioner and support group facilitator.

“Carolyn is an amazing asset to the Alzheimer’s Arkansas team,” said Matt Elmore, executive director of Alzheimer’s Arkansas. “Any partner or caregiver who interacts with her immediately sees that. Her experience, education and certifications have already brought immense joy and needed help to our caregivers. I’m excited to see how our programs and services continue to grow under her direction as our education and outreach director.”

“I find joy from working with aging adults. The ability to combine the use of my education, bachelor’s in social work and master’s in education, motivates me,” Torrence said. “I am proud to be part of an organization that can provide various support to caregivers that often times cannot see help in their situation.”
