Annual Ozarka College Foundation Golf Scramble Has Another Successful Year

The Ozarka College Foundation Board hosted its annual golf scramble on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Cooper’s Hawk Golf Course in Melbourne. This event is held each fall and raises money to benefit Ozarka College students.

This year’s tournament had 25 teams participate.

“Once again, our community has shown just how much it cares about the success of Ozarka College and its students,” said Suellen Davidson, director of advancement. “We appreciate each and every sponsor and all of the golfers who braved the rain to help make an impact in students’ lives.”

Winners of the Championship Flight were 1st place: Danny Moser, Connie Moser, Mat Dellinger and Ashley Dellinger (First National Bank of Izard County); 2nd place: Patrick Bray, Kenny Caraway, Russ Price and Jeremy Burns (Barfield Enterprises, Inc.); 3rd place: Joey Cooper, Nathan Duncan, Josh Gooch and Andy Arnold (Liberty Bank of Arkansas). Winners of the Second Flight were 1st place: Dave Heringer, Leslie Gitz, Brad Gitz and Tommy Tucker (Lyon College); 2nd place: Billy Counce, Chrissy Hudson, Dave Sharp
and Chris Morris; 3rd place: John Thornton, Mike Phillip, Adam Phillip and Greg Prenger (FNBC). Winners of the Third Flight were 1st place: Dr. Richard Dawe, Chris Dawe, Scott Pinkston and Dr. Dennis Rittle; 2nd place: Charles Treat, Ron Treat, Ken Phillips and John Phillips (Green’s Tax Service); 3rd place: Lowell Wheelis, Brad Wheelis, Reagan Wheelis and Garrett Haley
(Wheelis Dental Clinic).

Hole prize winners included Michele Harris, Brant Goings, Stacy Freeman, Brad Taylor, John Roberts, Jeremy Burns, Mike Freeman, Chrissy Hudson, Chris Morris and Ashley Dellinger.

Once again, the major corporate sponsor for the scramble was First National Banking Company. Liberty Bank of Arkansas served as lunch sponsor, First Community Bank was the course sponsor, Hatfield Ready Mix was the event sponsor, Jordan’s Quick Stop sponsored breakfast, InkSpot Graphics, Inc. and Bancorp South sponsored towels and Freedom Ford sponsored a chance to win a
new Ford vehicle for a hole-in-one.
