Arkansas Craft Gallery Announces December Hours and special events

Local members of the Arkansas Craft Guild are preparing to head to Little Rock for this weekend’s 33rd Annual Christmas Showcase.  Over 100 artists will fill the Statehouse Convention Center with their handcrafted jewelry, pottery, wood, fiber arts, photography, paintings and much more.

The Showcase is open on Friday from 10 am to 8 pm; on Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm with free admission from 8 to 10 am; and on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Board members plan to bring back the best of the work from Guild members at the show.

The Gallery, 104 E. Main,  is having a special “Bringing the Christmas Showcase to Mountain View” exhibit opening on Friday, Dec.9 from 5 to 7 pm.  This will be the first of three after hours events at the gallery on Fridays in December featuring new work, meet the artists, refreshments and free gift wrapping on gallery purchases.

New Hours:  Beginning this week on November 30th the gallery will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; on Sunday and Monday from 1 pm to 4 pm; and Friday evening from 5-7 pm on December 9th, 16th, and 23rd.

The Christmas room is filled with ornaments, stockings and Santa carvings combined with vintage household items.

You will find copies of the 2nd Volume of “Art and Artists of the Ozarks” for sale in the gallery.  This “coffee table”  book includes the work of many Guild members as well as other artists in the Ozark region.

The Gallery’s Christmas Open House will be held on Sunday, December 18th from 1 – 4 pm, – exactly one week before Christmas.  Come in to find that perfect gift for everyone on your list – or something special for yourself – and enjoy refreshments and register for door prizes.
