Arkansas Craft School Announces Fundraising Gala to be held November 16, 2012, 6:30 p.m. Christmas shopping just got easy… It’s the social event of the season! Arkansas Craft School announces a Fundraising Gala set for Saturday November 16, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Skillet Restaurant at the Ozark Folk Center State Park.

The Gala will feature dinner, a wine tasting, live music featuring The Incredible Mockingbird Hillbilly Band, silent and live auctions of hand-crafted items to benefit the School’s scholarship fund, a raffle for a hand-crafted koa-wood ukulele, and door prizes. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette describes Little Rock’s Mockingbird as a “five-piece band of diverse talents who create hillbilly psychedelia, a dose of music influenced by Ozark folk music and aliens, among other things.” Curtis Copeland of Nightflying says, “To see Mockingbird perform is an unforgettable experience. This is a group of unique individuals that truly love to play music, and have fun. They love the crowd and the happiness and fun that pours out of Mockingbird envelopes the audience like an enormous hug.”

Live and silent auctions will feature artistic creations by some of the Arkansas Craft School’s most talented instructors, students, and supporters. Just in time for Christmas shopping, bidding for these handcrafted works of art will begin at a fraction of their normal retail price. Christmas shopping just got easy…..find the perfect gift for that special someone! The Arkansas Craft School provides scholarships to students who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial restraints; the auction provides a way for these students to give something in return. Proceeds from the auctions will directly benefit the scholarship fund.
