Arkansas Game and Fish Commission donates used vehicles to training academy

LITTLE ROCK– In a short meeting of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, commissioners approved the donation of two used wildlife officer vehicles to the Arkansas Law EnforcementTraining Academy. The vehicles will be used for the training of state and local law enforcement officers on a closed course at the academy.

The academy, in East Camden, provides specialized training courses to the state’s law enforcement officers. The two trucks were in the process of being retired from duty and were considered surplus vehicles.

The Commission also honored several wildlife officers and education staff for their work with the Concerns of Police Survivors program. COPS provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. COPS also provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues.
