Arkansas House 44 (R) – 55 (D) Arkansas Senate 15 (R) – 20 (D)

State GOP Chairman Doyle Webb on Wednesday said in a news conference at state Republican Party headquarters that victories at the federal and state level showed that Arkansas was moving toward becoming a two-party state.

Republicans captured 3 of the state’s four U.S. House seats, a U.S. Senate seat, won election to 3 of the state’s seven constitutional offices, and will trail Democrats only 44-55 (one seat up for special election) in the state House and trail Democrats 15-20 in the state Senate.
