Arkansas Insurance Department Reports Record Storms in April

The Arkansas Insurance Department reported that between April 14 and April 29 that there were a total of 41,756 claims and losses totaling $121 million from storms .

The most claims and biggest losses from the April storms were in Washington County, where storms and heavy rainfall caused the most damage and largest claims. $14 million dollars in residential losses was reported , with 5,002 claims; $13 million in personal auto losses, with 5,146 claims; $1.8 million in commercial property losses, with 619 claims; and $711,760 in commercial auto losses, with 18 claims. 

The single worst of the Arkansas tornadoes struck Vilonia on April 25. Faulkner County suffered $10.5 million in damage and residents filed 1,493 claims. Record flooding was also report in April.
