BACC Holds Pioneer Cross Country Course Ribbon Cutting

The Batesville School District has a long list of cross country state titles. Oddly, each of those titles has been earned on other schools’ turfs because the school district has never had its own cross country course. Sulphur Rock Magnet Elementary’s EAST program and the Batesville School District’s Cross Country program changed school, city,
and county history today as they hosted the first home cross country meet at the new Pioneer Cross Country Course.
The course is the product of the collaborative efforts of Sulphur Rock Magnet’s EAST students and the Batesville School District, who worked tirelessly to plan and execute each detail of the course.
The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce had the honor of hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony today to celebrate
the first cross country course in Independence County and the fantastic initiative and knowledge of our local students.
The Pioneer Cross Country Course is located at Sulphur Rock Magnet Elementary (480 N. Main St. in Sulphur Rock).
