Batesville’s Main Street Farmers Market Open Saturday, Aug. 6th

The Main Street Farmers Market in Batesville is held the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month in the Pocket Park on Main Street in Batesville’s historic downtown district and runs from 8am ’til noon. The Saturday, August 6th, market day will feature tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and slicers along with peppers, cucumbers, new potatoes, eggplant, fresh herbs, summer squash, and honey. Produce comes from 2 Naturally Certified local farms: Price Farm in Pleasant Plains, and Clark Farm in Bethesda and farmers from Batesville, Cave City, Cushman and Salado most using sustainable practices as well. Brood Farm will have eggs from free ranging chickens in addition to their full line of goat milk soaps and lotions.

The market also features many artists and craftspeople with artists demonstrating wood carving and jewelry making all market day. Hand crafted pottery and jewelry, paintings, handmade aprons, and woodcrafted items including hand carved spoons will be on sale. Downtown Pie Company will sell handmade sweet and savory pies made at their commercial kitchen in downtown Newport and Rural Goods will have their lemonade, breads and sweets available this market day as well.

The Music at the Market Series will feature live music starting around 9 am.
