Blue Man Group to Perform 2 Sold-Out Shows

The phenomenally talented trio Blue Man Group will take the stage for two nights at the University of Central Arkansas’s Reynolds Performance Hall on Nov. 3 and 4.
The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. Both shows are sold out, but turn-back tickets may become available.
It is the first time that Blue Man Group will perform at Reynolds Performance Hall. Reynolds originally only planned for one show but the high demand for tickets required another show to be added.
“They have been on our wish list for many years and we are elated that we are finally able to get them to UCA,” said Amanda Horton, director of UCA Public Appearances.

Chris Wink, Phil Stanton and Matt Goldman are the three men who created Blue Man Group in 1987. They perform in character wearing matching blue makeup and black clothing. The performance is entirely non-verbal. Instead, the trio relies on theatrical combinations of music, comedy and multi-media to provide entertainment for all ages.

According to Columbia Arts Management Inc., “Although it is impossible to describe, people of all ages agree that Blue Man Group’s show is an intensely exciting and wildly outrageous experience that leaves the entire audience in a blissful, euphoric state.”
Audience members are often included in many of the exhibitions.

“This is a large, technical show that will provide an exciting multi-media theatrical experience for the whole audience,” Horton said. “The Blue Man Group is known for incorporating the audience into the show and keeping guests on the edge of their seat in anticipation of what will happen next.”

The production contains the use of strobe lights, theatrical haze, fog and very loud music. Patrons sitting in the first three rows of patrons may be splattered with small amounts of food particles.
