Bob Evins Appointed Chairman of Ozarka College Board of Trustees

Bob Evins of Cherokee Village was appointed Chairman of the Ozarka College board of trustees during the board’s regular
meeting Thursday, Sept. 19 at Ozarka College – Mountain View. He will serve a two-year term as board chair.

“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve Ozarka College in this capacity,” said Trustee Evins. “Ozarka College continues to be one of the fastest growing two year colleges in the country; largely due to the leadership of President Dawe, the division and department heads, and an extremely talented and committed staff of instructors.”

Jack Yancey of Brockwell was appointed vice chairman and Darla York of Salem was appointed secretary. Other members of the board include Dennis Wiles of Horseshoe Bend, who completed a two-year term as chairman Thursday, Paul Weaver of Violet Hill, Tim Gammill of Mountain View and Ben Cooper of Melbourne.

“I am looking forward to Chair Evins’ continued outstanding leadership and appreciate his mentoring and deep support of the College and to me personally,” said Ozarka College President Dr. Richard Dawe. “I would also like to express my sincere gratitude for Dennis Wiles’ service as Board Chair the past two years.  Ozarka College is quite fortunate to have such committed and talented Trustee leaders.”

Trustee Evins has served on the board for the past five years and completed a two-year term as vice chair Thursday. He is the president of Liberty Bank of Arkansas’ Highland location. He and his wife, Pat, have two grown children and four grandchildren.

Members of the Ozarka College board of trustees are appointed by the Governor and serve seven year terms. Chair Evins’ term on the Board will expire July 2016.
