Bob Lowery Suspends Campaign for District Judge

Bob Lowery, former district court judge and Baxter County Justice of the Peace, announced he is suspending his candidacy for the open seat of District Judge for the Tenth Judicial District, which covers all of Baxter and Marion counties. He released the following statement:

“I cannot express enough the gratitude I feel for the outpouring of support the people of Baxter and Marion counties have shown my campaign, however, for personal health reasons I will be stepping out of this race,” said Lowery. “I still believe it is vitally important that we have judges throughout our court system who know their role as interpreters of the constitution and law as it is written; not those who wish to be activist, super-legislators. I pray the voters will take a hard look at the other two candidates and press them to commit to these same ideals. Finally, I want to thank my wife Jan. She is my rock, an inspiration to our children, Anna and Forrest, and the best volunteer any candidate could ask for.”
