Bridge Across Greers Ferry Dam Closing March 7th!

BRIDGE ACROSS GREERS FERRY DAM CLOSING MARCH 7, CORPS REMINDS
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark., March 2 – The Army Corps of Engineers is reminding interested persons that the Highway 25 Bridge across Greers Ferry Dam will be temporarily closed Saturday, March 7.
The one-day bridge closure, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., is scheduled because upcoming maintenance work on the dam requires a large crane to work from the bridge.  If inclement weather prevents crews from working on the 7th, an alternate date for the work will be March 14.  Corps officials said they regret any inconvenience the road closing may cause.
The alternative traffic route is Highways 16 and 92 around the west side of the lake.  Officials ask motorists to drive slowly on the alternate routes because some drivers may not be familiar with the roads.  Also, they urge motorists to plan around the closings and allow extra time to reach their destinations.  The closure has been coordinated with local emergency and law enforcement agencies.
For more information, contact the Greers Ferry Project Office at 501-362-2416, or stop by the office located near the dam on Highway 25, three miles north of Heber Springs.
