CASA Child Advocate Training in Batesville August 14-16 9:30 am

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) Child Advocate Training in Batesville August 14-16  9:30 am at the CASA office in Batesville located at 345 East Main (across from the main library)

Every day, abused and neglected children in our communities are placed into temporary foster care.  In healthy families, parents decide what is best for their children and then provide it for them to the extent that they can.  They are their children’s best advocates. The court intervenes in families lives when parents can not or will not protect, promote, advocate when the parents, for whatever reason, don’t fulfill this role.

CASA volunteers are ordinary people doing extraordinary work for abused and neglected children.  Training requirements to be a child advocate include learning the basics of advocacy work, applying investigative techniques, understanding the child protective services system & how to work within it, knowledge of the juvenile court includes both classroom time and observation of actual juvenile Court proceedings.  Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background and central registry check. For more information call CASA administrative office at 501-362-4609 or the Batesville office at 870-793-7900.
