CHI St. Vincent Sponsors Pet Adoption Days in Sherwood to Celebrate the Power of Human Kindness

CHI St. Vincent has partnered with the Sherwood Humane Society to host Pet Adoption Days. As part of their healing ministry and efforts to improve the physical, mental and spiritual well being of the communities they serve, CHI St. Vincent will cover the cost of all fees to adopt a pet at the Sherwood Animal Shelter at 6500 N. Hills Boulevard in Sherwood from Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1. Everyone adopting a rescue pet at the shelter will receive a CHI St. Vincent leash and be entered to win a grand prize that will be announced on July 1.

“Our commitment to the community reaches far beyond the walls of our clinics and hospitals and we all know about the healing power of love and friendship, whether someone is suffering from a physical illness or dealing with a challenging time in their life,” said CHI St. Vincent CEO Chad Aduddell. “Adopting a pet is about more than companionship. It’s about sharing your heart and the spirit of human kindness. We and the Sherwood Humane Society look forward to sharing that kindness with others across our community.”

Research has shown that pets can provide a wide range of health benefits, including reduced stress, anxiety and depression as well as lower blood pressure and improved cardiovascular health. Pets also promote activity, exercise and general playfulness. Those interested in adopting a pet are encouraged to join CHI St. Vincent and the Sherwood Humane Society between June 27 – July 1 at the Sherwood Animal Shelter to discover the power of human kindness.
