Chris Crutcher to continue Harding University’s Young Adult Author Series Feb 22-23

The Graduate Reading Program at Harding University will present its third Young Adult Author Series program Feb. 22-23 featuring award-winning author Chris Crutcher.

Crutcher is the author of “Whale Talk,” “Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes” and “Ironman.” He has written 14 books, taught in California and Washington, and served as director of an alternative school for nearly a decade. Crutcher has been awarded the National Council of Teachers of English’s National Intellectual Freedom Award, the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents Award, the American Library Association’s Margaret A. Edwards Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Writer’s Who Make a Difference Award from “Writer” magazine.

The series will include a Friday night meal, Saturday morning continental breakfast and an author information packet. Event prices are $125 for one event and $100 for two events.

The series will conclude April 19-20 with Newberry Honor Award-winning author Cynthia Lord.
