Free In association with the closing of the exhibit, “Lee and Grant”, the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History will offer a day long lecture series on master amorer James Henry Burton. Burton altered and developed a better  “Mine Ball” as well as the Spiller and Burr Revolver.  Author  Dr. Mathew Norman will present several lectures on Harpers Ferry,  James Henry Burton and the creation of a Confederate Armory. Included in the lecturers for the day will be Conservator Jessica Hack, who conserved and restored the Burton uniform on display at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History. Ms. Hack will discuss the process of conservation as well the importance of care and handling of Civil War uniforms.
