Concert by Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble

The Department of Music at Arkansas State University will present the A-State Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble in concert on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at Fowler Center, Riceland Hall.

The A-State Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Timothy Oliver, associate professor of music and director of bands, while the A-State Symphonic Winds is under the direction of Dr. Sarah Labovitz, assistant professor of music and associate director of bands.  Graduate conductors are Ben Light, Jon Stevenson and Tyler Casey.

This concert is free and open to the public.

Selections on the program include “Plymouth Trilogy” by Anthony Iannaccone, “The Machine Awakes” by Steven Bryant, “Toccata for Band” by Frank Erickson, “Galop” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Two-Lane Blacktop” by James David, “Blue Lake Overture” by John Barnes Chance, “The Last Full Measure of Devotion” by Matthew Herman, “Amazing Grace” by Frank Ticheli, and “Sketches on a Tudor Psalm” by Fisher Tull.
