Congressional Candidate David Meeks Withdraws From Race

CONWAY – Republican congressional candidate, David Meeks of Conway, announced today that he would be withdrawing from the congressional race in Arkansas’s Second Congressional District and seek the nomination for the Arkansas State House of Representatives, District 46.

“I am encouraged by the support I have received over the past several months in my goal of taking Arkansas’s common sense conservative message to Washington D.C.,” Meeks said at a press conference held at the State Republican headquarters.

“The desire for constitutionally based solutions for the issues that face us today is the reason I have chosen to withdraw from the race for United States Congressman and run for the Arkansas State House of Representatives in District 46.”

“I am confident that either one of the Republican congressional candidates will be a sincere and accountable representative of the values and principles of the citizens of this district.  However, the citizens of State House District 46 in Conway have been without true representation for far too long. It is my desire to bring to the Arkansas Statehouse the values and principles of everyday Arkansans.”
