Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02): Leads Bipartisan Call for Leaders to Negotiate, End the Shutdown

WASHINGTON – Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02), Co-Chair of the bipartisan No Labels “Problem Solvers,” issued the following statement after leading 52 Members of Congress and Senators from both parties in calling for leaders in Washington to sit down, talk and negotiate:

“I’ve said from the beginning that shutting down the government is terrible policy, so I was proud to help lead a bipartisan group of Members in urging our leaders in Washington – including the President – to sit down together and find a solution to end the shutdown.  I will continue to work with anyone who is willing to find a way forward.  Unlike the President, I am open to a myriad of options.  President Obama’s position so far has been ‘my way or the highway,’ but perhaps he’ll listen to the advice of his fellow Democrats who joined me today in calling on him to sit down and talk it out and reach an agreement.”
