Construction of New Maumelle Interchange Requires Lane Closures on Interstate 40 near North Little Rock

Construction of the new Maumelle Interstate 40 Interchange requires lane closures just north of North Little Rock, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will close the outside eastbound lane of I-40 around mile marker 146 at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11. This lane closure will be in place 24 hours a day until the work is complete, which is expected to take seven days. Crews will use this time to complete the ramps tying the new construction to the existing lanes.

Two lanes of traffic will remain open at all times during the closure. Traffic will be controlled by barrier walls, signage, traffic barrels, and message boards. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov.
