Construction to Close South Goad Springs Street for 15-Minute Intervals in Benton County

Crews erecting future U.S. Highway 412 bridge beams will require closing all lanes on South Goad Springs Street for multiple 15-minute periods in Benton County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.

Continuing through Friday, August 18, workers will close all lanes on South Goad Springs Street between West Apple Blossom Road and Puppy Creek Road for 15-minute intervals. Lanes will be closed daily from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., weather permitting. This work will also necessitate closures on the Razorback Greenway Trail.

All vehicle traffic, cyclists, and pedestrians will be stopped outside the ArDOT right-of-way during these 15-minute intervals until an all-clear directive is given. Advance warning signs will be placed to notify traffic approaching the closure and flaggers will direct traffic.

This project (Job CA0907) is part of ArDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program. The contractor is constructing approximately four miles of the new four-lane U.S. Highway 412 Northern Bypass, which extends from Interstate 49 to State Highway 112. The project is expected to be completed mid-2018 and will provide a principal east-west route north of the Springdale Metropolitan Area.
