Conway Alliance for the Arts to Host Live Band Karaoke for the Arts on June 23rd

Have you ever wanted to be the lead singer in a band or know someone who has? Fulfil your dream on Thursday, June 23rd from 6pm to 8pm at Kings Live Music located at 1020 Front Street, during Live Band Karaoke for the Arts.

Singers will be accompanied by live music provided by Gary Summers and his Summertime Band. The band specializes in rock, pop and country from the 1950s to the 1980s; although, song selection is not strictly limited to that era. Conway Alliance for the Arts (CAFTA) is asking a $20 donation for solo acts, and $30 for group performances. Registration, and song selection is due by June 16th at 5pm. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/live-band-karaoke-for-the-arts-tickets-25572491009. Song selections should be sent to Jim Wiltgen at jimwiltgen2@yahoo.com. Event admission is free and open to all ages, although donations are welcome.

All money raised will support ArtsFest’s 10th annual festival—ArtsFest X: Conway Marks the Spot. Plans for this year’s festival, scheduled for September 22nd through October 1st in numerous locations around Conway include live music, readings, theatre, film screenings, dance, visual art, and opportunities for artists to sell and display their work.

“This event is going to be a fun and unique way to support the arts in Conway,” said ArtsFest chair Beth Wilson Norwood, “even if one doesn’t plan on singing, attendees will have fun watching the performances and getting their photos taken in our photo booth.”

CAFTA’s mission is to promote the arts in Conway and Central Arkansas through a unified forum. Its goal is to someday have a facility that all community arts organizations can use for artistic performance, exhibition and education. Arts Fest is a festival dedicated to that unification and to showcase the wide variety of arts and artists at work in Central Arkansas.
