CPC Issues Call for 2021 River Cities Dragon Boat Festival Teams

Children’s Protection Center (CPC), an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse in all its forms and holding offenders accountable, announced a call for teams ahead of the 2021 River Cities Dragon Boat Festival. Local businesses, organizations and other groups are encouraged to team up for a day of fun and one of the most unique events in Arkansas, all in the name of preventing child abuse in our community. The 2021 festival is scheduled for June 11–12 and will take place at Lake Willastein Park in Maumelle, Arkansas.

“It takes a team to paddle one of these amazing Dragon Boats, just like it takes a team of people to prevent child abuse in our community,” said CPC Executive Director Jennifer Long. “Just like we do every day at CPC to support children, this is a great opportunity for people to come out and work together to support an important mission in our community.”

All funds raised from this event benefit CPC’s work to provide compassionate care to children and their families in order to overcome the trauma of abuse and hold offenders accountable. CPC provides its services to families at no cost. The 2020 River Cities Dragon Boat Festival, which marked the beginning of CPC’s 15th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To create and register a team on behalf of a business, church, community organization or group of friends and family, participants need 20 paddlers and one dedicated boat drummer.
