D.C. Morrison to Chair Democrats for Tim Griffin

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today announced Democratic U.S. Senate candidate D.C. Morrison will be chairman of his campaign’s newest coalition: Democrats for Griffin.

Griffin, who is campaigning to replace outgoing U.S. Rep Vic Snyder, made the announcement today while addressing the Political Animals Club meeting in the Grand Hall of the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion.

Griffin said, “I am happy to announce today that D.C. will be the head of Democrats for Griffin. I am proud to have him on my team as we campaign across the Second District to take common sense leadership to Congress.”

Morrison earned 13% of the vote statewide in the Democratic U.S. Senate Primary. In the Second District, Morrison received 16% of the vote in Conway County; 12% in Faulkner County; 20% in Perry County; 8% in Pulaski County; 14% in Saline County; 23% in Van Buren County; 15% in White County and 20% in Yell County.

“As I have said before, our campaign will not cede any neighborhood, city or county,” Griffin said. “We will take our message to every voter in the district: rural or urban, Democrat, Independent or Republican.

“I don’t care what party you belong to or what your background is,” Griffin continued. “If you believe we are headed in the wrong direction, and believe there needs to be a check and balance on the President and Congress, then join my campaign.”

“As I have visited with Tim, I have found that he and I agree on many issues important to Arkansans, namely the runaway spending of Washington and the ever-increasing national debt,” Morrison said. “I am looking forward to introducing Tim to my Democratic friends and supporters. I believe many Democrats will vote for Tim in November because they will find him to be the common sense leader we need representing us in Congress.”
