Disaster Recovery Center Opening in Faulkner County

LITTLE ROCK – Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement in response to yesterday’s announcement of the opening of a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Faulkner County.  The center will provide residents direct access to officials from the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

“This is wonderful news for everyone in Faulkner County—especially Vilonia—who was affected by the recent storms.  I commend ADEM and FEMA for setting up this facility so that area residents can get the help they need,” Griffin said.

The DRC is located at Eagle Country Plaza, 1122 Main Street, Suites 7 and 8, Vilonia, Ark.  It will be open May 10 – 24 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.  Residents will be able to get answers to disaster questions, information about state and federal programs, and help with completing paperwork, as well as tips for rebuilding and mitigation advice.  Information can also be found by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov, or by calling 1-(800) 621-FEMA (3362).
