The North Central Arkansas Artist League sponsored a workshop by Duane Hada on March 10 and 11 in Fairfield Bay. Hada is an artist who specializes in river and fish paintings in both watercolor and acrylic; his work can be seen at his Rivertown Gallery, Mountain Home. He’s also a fly fishing guide on the White and Little Red Rivers, and demonstrates a first-hand knowledge of his painting specialties.
Fifteen area artists completed watercolors of river scenes and trout portraits in the all-day workshop sessions held at Bayside Art Studio and Gallery at the corner of Greenwood Road and Highway 330. They are Lea Berry, Julie Caswell, Alecs Long, Ellen Kelly, Jan Cobb, Joyce Hartmann; Dianne Traylor, Carolyn Goettsch, Judy Shumann, Raylene Finkbeiner, Jeanne Homuth; Bonnie Hookman, Charlotte Rierson, Diana Foote, and Ruby Krimm. Workshop attendees live in Fairfield Bay, Choctaw, Edgemont, Diamond Bluff, Houston, and Greers Ferry.
Anyone interested in joining the League can contact any member of the organization or visit the studio on Monday mornings when artists meet to paint together, or call President Joyce Hartmann at 745-6615 for more information.
