Dustyn Bork Exhibition & Reception

The Batesville Area Arts Council is pleased to present Plans, an exhibition by Dustyn Bork, at the BAAC Gallery on Main (226 E Main St) now through March 11, 2023. Please join us for the gallery reception on Friday, February 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a short informal artist talk at 6 p.m.

The exhibition is inspired by architecture, modernism, and incidental design in the constructed environment. Plans features two series, including paintings on shaped panels and collages on paper intended to resemble walls and surfaces inspired by places in Batesville. Bork states, “I challenged myself to make singular pieces for the exhibition reflecting the nature of buildings being different with each having their own history, life lived, and story to tell. The color palette reflects the beauty and rich layered history of our city (the oldest continuously occupied in Arkansas).”

Dustyn Bork is an artist working primarily in printmaking and painting. He was born in Monroe, Michigan, and relocated to Batesville to teach studio art and art history courses at Lyon College, where he currently serves as Professor of Art. He earned his Master of Fine Arts from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including recent solo exhibitions at the Beverly and Sam Ross Gallery at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee; and at the Arts and Science Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. His work is represented by Cole Pratt Gallery in New Orleans, LA.

This exhibition is free and open to the public during BAAC’s regular gallery hours, Tuesday – Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
