North Little Rock, Ark. – The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management, along with ACE Hardware of Conway will hold an earthquake workshop on April 16* from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ACE Hardware, 1085 Morningside Dr, Conway, Ark.
Local and state agencies will be on-site to talk about what citizens need to do to prepare for an earthquake.
“As citizens, we have a responsibility to prepare ourselves and our families for disasters that can affect the areas we live,” said David Maxwell, ADEM Director. “In Arkansas, earthquakes are a very real threat. On April 16, we hope that citizens will come out and see how a few simple steps can protect our families and our homes.”
ACE Hardware will also be demonstrating pre-earthquake how-to projects as well as some minor damage repairs after an earthquake.
*Make-up date will be May 7th if weather prevents the April 16th date.
