Fairy Tale Artwork on Display at WCMC

The works of young artists in Mrs. Marian Colburn’s 2nd grade art class at Sidney Deener Elementary School are on display in the Arts in the Hospital exhibit at White County Medical Center, located at 3214 E. Race Ave. Students used watercolors and crayons to create colorful works of art based on the classic fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.”

Pictured are (front row) Natalie Raines, Sara Campos, Alissa Carter, Eliza Goodwin, Macy McIntosh, Emily Perez, Emerson Foote, Landon Conway and Christian Parks; and (back row) Ziron Preston, Kayden Reagan, Kinser Kennedy, Jose Marin, Chase Phillips, Emma Glenn, Cyntia Torres-Isbarra, Shalyn Calk, Valencia Valentine, Tyson Poole and Hao Chen with Mrs. Marian Colburn.

Mrs. Colburn submitted the pieces for WCMC’s Arts in the Hospital program. The arts have been known to help speed the healing process, and the WCMC Arts in the Hospital program encourages patients and guests to enjoy a variety of art forms during their visit. Art displays range from elementary school student drawings to professional paintings and photography, as well as musical performances from choirs and bands featuring students of all ages.

The Arts in the Hospital display is located on the first floor of WCMC at 3214 E. Race Ave., just outside the Carousel Gift Shoppe. For more information about Arts in the Hospital, please contact the White County Medical Center Event Specialist at (501) 380-1050.
