Fantastique Chocolates

On October 29, at 4:00, the Conway Symphony Orchestra will provide the community with a sumptuous concert feast featuring performances of Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz and Symphonic Chocolates by Maxime Goulet. The concert will be at Reynolds Performance Hall, on the UCA Campus at 223 Beatrice Powell St., Conway. Tickets are available at the box office, (501) 450-3265, www.uca.edu/tickets, for $5 for children/students, $15 group rate, or $20-$38 adults.

Symphonie Fantastique, one of the most influential works of the Romantic period, is a psychedelic journey of passion and harmony featuring spirits and witches, a perfect complement to the Halloween season. The audience will come along for a wild ride!

Symphonic Chocolates has been described as “pure happiness” and features everyone’s other favorite part of the Halloween season — candy! Each suite of the symphony is designed to be savored with a different type of chocolate: caramel, mint, dark chocolate and coffee. Thanks to a partnership with Kilwin’s of Little Rock, custom boxes of delectable, hand-crafted chocolates will be available to purchase in the lobby for $4, (free to subscribers). Conductor Israel Getzov says, “For all you chocolate lovers out there, this is a rare chance to taste with your ears and listen with your taste buds.”

There will also be a Golden Ticket hidden in one of the boxes for a special prize, and a social media contest in the lobby if you post a photo with the CSO backdrop.

Season tickets are still available by calling the box office, and include the Oct. 29 performance plus three others: Amahl and The Nutcracker on Dec. 9 or 10; Pictures at an Exhibition on March 3; and Strings Attached on April 21.
