Farm to Table at the Ozark Folk Center State Park in the Craft Village

The Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Village will host Farm to Table workshops onFriday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18, 2016.

Workshops will include talks about adding value to your farm products for year-around sales; using goats to reclaim land; hot peppers and cool mint; and more. Preregistration is not required. The Craft Village admission fee of $12 covers all workshops.

“We preserve the folkways and traditions of the Ozarks here,” said Jeanette Larson, Craft Director at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. “Growing, preserving and eating good food are all part of our lifestyle. We love to share our knowledge and bringing quality meals to our table.”

Farm to Table focus is carried over in the Skillet Restaurant with locally grown chicken on the menu, seasoned with herbs grown in the Kitchen Garden in front of the Skillet Restaurant.

A Farmstead Cheesemaking class is offered on Thursday, June 16 in conjunction with the Farm to Table weekend. Preregistration is required for this class and the registration deadline is June 14.

Food, music, gardens, talks, tours and so much more make up the Ozark Folk Center State Park. The Craft Village is open Tuesday– Saturday from 10am to 5pm through November 26, 2016. Regular Admission is $12 for adults and $7 for children 6-12. Children under 6 are free.
