FilmFest Hosts Regional Premiere of Friends for Life in Family Film Showcase
This year’s Family Film Showcase, an annual feature of the Ozark Foothills FilmFest, presents Friends for Life, recently released by Grizzly Adams Productions. The film focuses on a lonely man who adopts four wolf pups. An angel, reminiscent of It’s a Wonderful Life, also figures into the plot. It has been honored and approved for all ages by both the Film Advisory Board and the Dove Foundation. It has played at the Los Angeles Family Film Festival and at the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival. The film stars Michael Flynn, whose acting credits include the film Stripes and television programs Touched by an Angel, Matlock, Moonlighting, and Promised Land. The cast also included 19 trained wolves, who play the rescued four wolves at three stages of their lives, and a grizzly bear.
The Family Film Showcase takes place on Saturday, March 28, in Independence Hall on the campus of the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville, at 11:00 a.m. The program also includes The Bunjies, an animated film about a very young rock group, and For a Few Marbles More, a comic short that involves a playground, water guns, and a showdown. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for adults over age 54 and students of all ages, and $3 for Foothills Film Society members.
