NORTH LITTLE ROCK– The new deadline for fire departments to apply for the Act 833 Fire Grant Program is June 30, 2017. Since 1992, the deadline has been October 31st, but it is imperative for fire departments to be aware of this deadline change and ensure all applications are submitted on time. Late applications will not be eligible for the grant.
Act 833 is a tax on insurance premiums collected statewide and distributed to all fire departments that meet eligibility requirements. Applicants must show how previous funds were spent and meet the personnel, equipment and training requirements to be eligible. The application, expenditure report and resource survey should be mailed faxed or emailed, along with invoices and other supporting documentation to:
