Foothills FoodFest: A Culinary Revelation Set for November 6 at Elizabeth’s

Ozark Foothills FilmFest will host the first of what it hopes will become an annual food festival at Elizabeth’s Restaurant, 231 E. Main Street in historic downtown Batesville, on Saturday, November 6, at 2:00 p.m. The Foothills FoodFest: A Culinary Revelation will showcase creations from restaurants and chefs throughout the region. Participants to date include the Anderson House Inn Restaurant and Private Club (Heber Springs), Cinnamon Stick Sandwich and Coffee Shop, Daylight Donuts, Elizabeth’s Restaurant, Janssen’s Lakefront Restaurant (Edgemont), MorningSide Coffeehouse, Natalie’s, Smokehouse Grill and Café, Serenity Farm Bread (Leslie), and Tommy’s Famous Pizza (Mountain View). Nationally-acclaimed chef Ira Mittleman, the new owner of the Anderson House Inn Restaurant and Private Club, will attend.

Restaurants, bakeries, and other food-related businesses are invited to participate and showcase a signature dish or dishes. Chefs are invited to attend and discuss their dishes with attendees. Participants are also invited to bring menus or other promotional print materials. Ozark Foothills FilmFest President Bob Pest, food and restaurant critic for Eye on Independence magazine, sees the event as “a celebration of the restaurant revival we are currently undergoing in Batesville and around the region. We are thrilled at the early response from some of the exciting new restaurants in the area, including Natalie’s and the Smokehouse, and especially excited to welcome Chef Ira Mittleman.”   

Tickets are $25 and are available by calling 870-251-1189. Space is limited so purchasing tickets in advance is suggested. All proceeds will benefit Ozark Foothills FilmFest, Inc. Ozark Foothills FilmFest, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational corporation founded in 2001. The organization presents the annual Ozark Foothills FilmFest every spring, the T Tauri Youth Film Festival and Movie Camp every summer, and other educational programs throughout the year.
