Griffin Earns U.S. Chamber Endorsement

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today announced he has earned the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in his bid for the Republican nomination to succeed outgoing U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder.

“We’re endorsing Griffin because of his commitment to standing up for the people of Arkansas,” said Bill Miller, the U.S. Chamber’s senior vice president and political director, in a press release.  “He is an invaluable leader on important business issues.  We’re confident that while in Congress, Griffin will look out for businesses of all sizes.”

“I am honored to have the support and endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,” Griffin said. “Americans are facing the harsh reality that nearly 10 percent of our fellow citizens are out of work and a record 6.7 million of them have been so for over six months. Arkansas families and small businesses are continuing to ask ‘where are the jobs?’ But instead of jobs, we are seeing more government spending, higher national debt and increased government intervention, all while new tax increases – including a value-added tax – are being openly discussed.

“We must do away with this misplaced reliance on government to create jobs,” Griffin added. “Congress needs to start working for us, not against us. It needs to get out of the way and let the private sector create the jobs that will strengthen our economy.”
