Tim Griffin in 2nd District Race Against Vic Synder

LITTLE ROCK – With the headline “Arkansas’ Snyder Draws Credible Foe,” CQ Politics changed its rating for the race in the Arkansas 2nd District from “Safe Democratic” to “Democratic Favored” after Army reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin announced his challenge to Rep. Vic Snyder.

CQ Politics notes the new rating “means the contest has become more competitive, with a plausible possibility of an upset.”

“The people of Central Arkansas deserve a congressman who shares their values and represents their views. Rep. Snyder does not reflect those values and voters now have a clear alternative in my candidacy,” Griffin said.
