Griffin Leads Elliott 50-34 poll was conducted by Alexandria

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin’s campaign today released results of an internal poll showing Griffin leading Democratic nominee state Sen. Joyce Elliott by 16 percentage points, 50% – 34%.

The live interview poll was conducted by Alexandria, Va.-based OnMessage, Inc. June 13-14 using a sample of 400 likely voters with a margin of error of +/? 4.9%. The party breakdown of the survey is as follows: 43% Democrat, 23% Independent and 33% Republican. Pulaski County represented 53% of the polling sample. Of Pulaski County respondents, 60% resided in Little Rock.

Griffin is viewed favorably by 34% of respondents, while only 12% have an unfavorable view. Elliott is known by 69% of voters and has a favorable/unfavorable ratio of 35% to 34%.

Griffin leads among Independents, 63% – 14%.

“This poll is encouraging, but it’s just a snapshot in time,” Griffin said. “We have a long way to go until November, and Sen. Elliott is a formidable opponent. As I said when she won her party’s nomination, I am running an issue-based campaign focused on innovative ideas and common sense solutions.

“Voters in the Second District deserve a serious debate on how we can create jobs, improve our economy and reduce the national debt,” Griffin added.
