Grocery Stores Help with A Day of Caring

Local grocery stores are collecting non-perishable food items and personal care products for the 17th annual A Day of Caring outreach, scheduled for Saturday, August 3. 07_26_13 Grocery Stores Help A Day of Caring

In Searcy, green donation boxes are located at the front entrances of the Walmart Supercenter, Walmart Neighborhood Market, Mayflower, Harps and Kroger. Also, in Bald Knob grocery stores including Harps and Sexton Foods have donation boxes to collect items such as deodorant, bar soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste and diapers, as well as boxed non-perishable food items to stock the A Day of Caring Food Bank.

A Day of Caring is a community-wide outreach program coordinated by White County Medical Center that is designed to help uninsured and underinsured residents of White County. Free medical, dental and eye screenings will be provided; additional services available include immunizations, pap exams and blood pressure checks. Participants will have access to information on social services available locally. Items such as school supplies, Bibles, children’s socks and underwear, diapers, groceries, and personal care products will also be distributed. Please note that children must be present to receive school supplies, socks/underwear and diapers.
