Guard helicopter clips power lines in late night incident near Clinton

 An Arkansas National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter was involved in an accident resulting in a Van Buren County power outage late last night, Wednesday, March 27. 

 A Camp Robinson-based crew of three Soldiers was conducting a routine night-training flight north of Clinton, when their aircraft’s landing gear made contact with power lines at approximately 8 p.m.  The contact cut the lines, reportedly leaving residents without power for approximately two hours.

 No personnel were injured in the accident.  The full extent of damage is unknown at this time.  The accident remains under investigation.
