Description: The Harding University string quartet, concert choir and orchestra will show case their talents in a holiday performance Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Administration Auditorium.

The string quartet, coached by Molly Williams, adjunct instructor of music, will perform the “Sinfonia” from Handel’s “Messiah” and an arrangement of “The Holly and the Ivy.” The 106-voice concert choir, directed by Chair of the music department Kelly Neill, will sing “At the Round Earth’s Imagined Corners” by Williametta Spencer, “Os Justi” by Anton Bruckner and “Signs of the Judgment” arranged by Mark Butler. The orchestra, conducted by Associate Music Professor Michael Chance, will play excerpts from Cornelli’s “Christmas Concerto” and a setting of “I Wonder as I Wander” by Donald Coakley.

For the finale, the concert choir and the full orchestra will combine to perform Randol Bass’s “A Feast of Carols,” a medley that includes well known carols set in anenergetic arrangement for mass choir and full orchestra.
