Harkrider Lanes to Close in Conway

The two northbound lanes of Harkrider will be closed next week. Traffic will be diverted to one of the two southbound lanes, with one-lane traffic in each direction.

The lane closures are dependent upon getting temporary signals installed. The lane closures will take effect on Monday if all goes well. Work on the two new northbound lanes is expected to take from six to eight weeks, then traffic will be diverted to the two new lanes and the existing southbound lanes will close. The reduced-lane traffic situation, in all, will exist for several months.

The pedestrian crossing at Siebenmorgan and Harkrider will need to be modified at some point, but will remain open throughout the project. The pedestrian overpass also will remain open. There may be times when a driveway into the Wellness and Athletics Center parking lot or the Village at Hendrix may need to be closed for a day, but these areas will always be accessible.

The Harkrider lane closures will extend from Pine Street north to Fleming Street.
