Jeana Williams Recieves State Emergency Management Coordinator Of The Year

North Little Rock – Jeana Williams, Van Buren County Emergency Management Coordinator, received the Central Area Emergency Management Coordinator of the Year and the overall State Emergency Management Coordinator of the Year Award.

Jeana has demonstrated what devotion to her profession is all about and exemplifies what it is to be an emergency manager. Recently, she has been involved in response and recovery efforts to a county-wide water outage, two tornado disasters, two flood disasters, and last but not least, the 2009 major ice storm. She has worked with cities involving local law enforcement, fire departments, and first responders to secure much needed resources in order to better serve her county in all response efforts of emergency management. In addition, she has also helped provide water rescue training for the county search and rescue team in order to be better prepared for response to incidents on local lakes.

As if this local coordinator does not have enough duties and responsibilities, she also donates her energy and time to serving as a volunteer firefighter, is a member of the ARCAT Development Team, and actively participates in the county generator program. She spends time working with the Venture Crew 485 and Boy Scout program, which educates kids about emergency preparedness.
